Quite simple - you are not allowed to discriminate wether it's based on religion or sexuality. If a baker can't handle this, he should shut down his business without hesitasion.

The Department of Justice extending federal benefits to gay couples married in Kansas does not undo Kansas's bigoted law against equal marriage rights.

Kansas can continue to deny legal recognition to married gay couples, while the federal government grants those couples federal benefits.

1. While I am unfamiliar with Kansas politics, I seriously doubt anyone concerned was silly enough to expect this to stand up to judicial review.

Oh, I know the teapublicans know their bull**** will get shot down in sort order but that isn't the point nor is any talk of "religious freedom". This is legal everywhere, you can refuse to sell/buy something to/from someone for whatever reason you like and that's a good thing.

Want to bet? Go ahead and tell someone that your business doesn't serve people because of race, creed, color, national origin, or religious beliefs and watch as your business is literally destroyed by the courts for criminal behavior. I'd suggest you google what a protected class is.

Constitution guarantees freedom of religion. The Baker has the right to refuse customers and clients in accordance with his faith, per the 2nd Amendment.

Arguing that business owners must comply to clients that they do not want nor need is contrary to freedom of association too. If I assault a business owner, are they required to dispense service? No. They are permitted to blacklist clients.

Uh, yes, it does. It evades the restriction which is why Kansas has shut down that little scam.

Kansas can continue to deny legal recognition to married gay couples, while the federal government grants those couples federal benefits.

So, in effect, Kansas has no say as to the marriage laws within their state, and this is an infringement of state sovereignty.

The Feds don't have jurisdiction over this in Kansas. Legally, Kansas does. The Feds have the say in areas under their jurisdiction, and not elsewhere.

This is destined for the Supremes.
